Glaucoma

Early detection is critical

Research suggests an estimated two million Americans have glaucoma and don't even know it. If you're one of them, early detection is critical to preserving your sight.

Glaucoma Screenings

Once you develop glaucoma, you will have it for the rest of your life. There is no cure, but with surgery and medication, we can stop further vision loss.

The best way to protect your sight is to get regular eye exams, including a glaucoma test. Many patients with glaucoma lose large amounts of sight before they realize there’s a problem. Early diagnosis can help us prevent that from happening.

Glaucoma can affect anyone, but some people are at higher risk. Risk factors include a family history of the disease, Hispanic or African ancestry, long-term corticosteroid use, and old eye injuries. Glaucoma screenings are recommended for anyone over the age of 40, particularly those with risk indicators.
