The emergency department staff at Aurora BayCare Medical Center cares for more than 30,000 adults and children each year. We treat all types of illnesses and injuries in our emergency room – from work and sports injuries to strokes, heart attacks and traumatic injuries.

We are a regional leader in comprehensive ED and trauma care. Here, you get a team that can handle any type of emergency at any time of day.

We have a laborist program, with obstetric physicians on-site 24/7 and emergency ultrasounds. Plus, we have the city’s only toxicology expert for poisoning and overdoses. Our other services include:

Heart attack (STEMI) program

When you have a heart attack, minutes matter. We can diagnose you right away and send you to our heart catheterization lab. Our STEMI (ST-elevation myocardial infarction) program leads the region in treatment times. We have unblocked clogged heart arteries in as fast as 13 minutes.

Level II trauma center

We are an accredited Level II trauma center, the highest certification in Green Bay. Accreditation means that our team, trained in advanced trauma life support, can handle almost any type of traumatic injury. We have one of only four comprehensive stroke centers in Wisconsin. Our stroke experts are available around the clock to provide immediate treatment. With special training, our team recognizes the unique needs of older adults. Our emergency room is an accredited geriatric emergency department. Designed with you in mind

We designed our hospital and our services for your safety and convenience:

• Emergency transport: Emergency medical experts and regional EMS agencies helped design our emergency department. With four climate-controlled garage bays, we have the largest ED in the region. Our heliport is right next to the ED and accepts critically ill and injured patients by helicopter 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
• Lifesaving communication: We partner with area emergency medical services (EMS) agencies so we get notified when you are on your way via ambulance or helicopter. This communication helps us prepare and provide the fastest possible treatment when you arrive.
• Convenient parking and services: Our building was thoughtfully designed to put your needs first. We have accessible, nearby parking, along with a cafeteria that’s known for its delicious, healthy food. We also offer valet parking. Our medical office building is attached to the hospital and easy to reach if you need follow-up tests or care.
• On-site pharmacy: Our hospital pharmacy can deliver your prescriptions to you before you leave the emergency department. The pharmacy is open 7 days a week for your convenience.
