An emergency department & urgent care under one roof
Sometimes you aren’t sure if you should go to the emergency department or an urgent care clinic. We provide both under one roof at Aurora BayCare Medical Center on the east side of Green Bay. When you arrive, we quickly and carefully assess you to determine where you need to go.
Because we offer both emergency and urgent care, you don’t pay for more care than you need – only the care that’s right for you. Learn more about our emergency department.
Find the care you need
Call 911 right away if you’re experiencing a life-threatening emergency.
You can stop by any of our locations for urgent care from 8 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Monday – Friday and 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Saturday – Sunday. Our clinics are closed on major holidays. We also offer emergency care 24/7 at the Aurora BayCare Medical Center.
Urgent Care Plus: More than urgent care
If you need urgent care, you have two other options in addition to our combined emergency department/urgent care location.
Our two Urgent Care Plus locations handle minor illnesses and injuries for children and adults of all ages. We also perform tests and treatments you don’t get at a standard urgent care clinic, including blood work, X-rays, CT scans and IV (intravenous) fluids.
Choose where you get care based on wait times at our Urgent Care Plus locations. Just choose the time you’d like to come in for care. You also can walk in for care.

Emergency department vs. urgent care
If you aren’t sure what type of care you need, use this information to guide you:
Emergency department
The emergency department is for serious and even life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Call 911 or go to the emergency department if you experience any of these symptoms:
- Signs of serious illness:
- Bleeding while pregnant
- Chest pain or difficulty breathing
- Fainting, loss of consciousness, or confusion
- Fever of 104 or higher for adults, or fever with headache or rash
- Seizures
- Weakness or numbness on one side
- Serious injuries or accidents:
- Broken bones
- Cuts greater than 2 cm (3/4 inch)
- Head injury or concussion
- Poisoning or overdose
- Serious burns
Urgent care
Our urgent care locations are walk-in clinics. They’re great for minor illnesses and injuries or times when you can’t see your regular health care provider. We treat:
- Bladder infections
- Minor broken bones (at our Urgent Care Plus locations)
- Coughs and congestion
- Digestive issues such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation
- Mild fever of 102 or higher
- Minor burns, rashes, sprains and minor injuries
- Throat and ear pain and infections
If you’re experiencing COVID symptoms, our urgent care locations accept walk-ins. You’ll need to see a provider before getting tested. If you think you’ve been exposed to COVID but aren’t experiencing symptoms, or if you need a COVID test to travel or to return to work or school, you can schedule an appointment for testing in LiveWell.
Our two Urgent Care Plus locations offer additional tests and treatments you won’t get at a standard urgent care clinic.
And remember: You don’t need to decide if you need to go to the emergency department or an urgent care clinic if you choose our Aurora BayCare Medical Center location. We figure that out based on your symptoms when you get here.
