Definitive lung cancer screening and diagnosis

• CT scans: We take a low-radiation CT scan of your chest for review by our expert radiologists. Routine lung cancer screening tests identify cancerous cells early, before you have symptoms.
• Robotic bronchoscopy: We were the first Wisconsin hospital to offer this minimally invasive technique to diagnose lung cancer. With robotic bronchoscopy, a computer creates a 3D image of your lungs. Specialists use advanced technology to guide a small, flexible instrument (bronchoscope) into the lung to collect tissue samples from hard-to-reach areas.

• Video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS): Using this minimally invasive surgical technique, our lung cancer surgeons remove large sections of diseased lung (known as lobectomy). Surgeons insert a thoracoscope, a small tube with a camera, between the ribs to access the chest cavity. This alternative to open thoracotomy, or traditional chest surgery, provides:
