There are various ways to treat skin conditions. Medication is just one approach. Depending on your condition, we may recommend skin treatments including:

  • Phototherapy, also called light therapy – used for a variety of nail and skin conditions
  • Laser treatment – for nail fungus
  • Patch testing – used to determine what’s causing an allergic skin reaction
  • Cryosurgery – in-office procedure using liquid nitrogen to freeze and remove skin growths

Skin Cancer

Dermatologists offer surgical care for patients with skin cancer. We treat all forms of skin cancer including melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma.

Skin cancer treatments may include:

  • Skin screenings and biopsies to test suspicious spots
  • Removal of cancerous growths
  • Non-surgical treatments such as light therapy or creams

We provide a team approach to patient care. Specialists from oncology, plastic surgery, and other areas collaborate to provide the best treatment for each individual.

Fortunately, skin cancer is preventable. Wear sunscreen daily to reduce your risk. Seek shade or cover up with clothing when the sun is at its strongest, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Examine your skin for unusual spots every month.

Early detection is the best treatment. Tell your doctor if you notice any unusual moles or changes in your skin. Our skin specialists can help determine if your condition is cancerous.
