Our treatments and services for incontinence
We offer a range of nonsurgical and surgical incontinence treatments, including:
- Biofeedback: Sensors on the skin help us measure the strength of your pelvic floor muscles as you do exercises. We make sure you’re activating the correct muscles so you can better control incontinence.
- Bladder injections: We may recommend injections, such as Botox®, in the bladder to relax muscles and ease symptoms of urge incontinence.
- Bladder or bowel retraining: Strengthening exercises and behavior modifications help you regain control of the muscles responsible for bladder and bowel function.
- Nerve stimulation: Implanted, removable devices send mild electrical impulses to the sacral nerves or tibial nerves. These nerves regulate the bladder and pelvic floor. Nerve simulation can help relieve symptoms of overactive bladder and fecal incontinence.
- Urethral bulking injections: We inject collagen or another synthetic material around the urethra. The injection allows the urethra to close tightly, preventing urine leaks.
- Vaginal pessary: We insert a ring-shaped prosthetic device called a pessary into the vagina. The removable pessary pushes against the urethra to help prevent urinary leaks from stress incontinence.
