Laborist Program

It’s different from other hospitals and clinics in that an Aurora OB/GYN is always on-site to help your pregnancy, labor and delivery.  Many other hospitals have their doctors on call but they may be covering multiple hospitals and be as much as 30 minutes from the hospital when they are paged.  In urgent and non-urgent situations, it’s nice to know that an OB/GYN specialist is always present, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We believe our laborist model provides better collaboration with nurses and other members of your health care team, and more importantly, provides better care and quality to you.  At Aurora BayCare, our laborists respect each family's birth plan and collaborate with you and your health care team to help achieve the best outcomes possible.

Laborists:

• Monitor the progress of your labor
• Answer questions you and your family may have
• Respond to unusual test results or circumstances
• Assist in the delivery of your child
• And most importantly, are there when emergencies arise

OB/GYN specialists in our Laborist Program are just part of the specialized team of nurses and doctors ready to assist you with expert, care around-the-clock.  You can be confident that we’ll be there when you need us.
