Conditions we treat

Our doctors consult with you to learn more about how your feet function during daily and athletic activities. We develop personalized plans to improve foot and ankle health and prevent future problems. We treat:

Bone issues

Our team specializes in conditions affecting the bones of the feet, such as:

  • Bunion: A bump forms on the big toe joint, causing pain.
  • Bunionette (tailor’s bunion): A bump occurs at the base of the little toe, creating discomfort.
  • Fracture: A break in a foot or ankle bone, or bones, occurs from contact, a fall or repetitive motion.
  • Hammertoe: A toe deformity bends the end of the toe down, pushing the toe’s center to a raised position.
  • Heel spur: A calcium deposit (bone growth) forms where tissue known as the fascia connects to the heel bone. This extra growth causes heel pain.

Skin conditions

We diagnose and treat common conditions in the skin and nails of the feet, including:

  • Athlete’s foot: An infection caused by a fungus (yeast or mold). When the fungus enters a crack in your skin, it causes burning and itching, usually between the toes.
  • Blisters: Rubbing and pressure from poorly fitting shoes can cause fluid-filled sacs to form on the feet. Allergic reactions, viral infections and skin infections can also cause blisters.
  • Corns and calluses: Hard patches of skin that result from pressure or persistent rubbing on your skin. Corns occur on the top and sides of toes, while calluses occur on the bottom of the feet.
  • Ingrown toenails: A painful condition that occurs when toenails begin to curve and grow into the skin. This condition can happen when shoes don’t fit or when nails aren’t trimmed.
  • Toenail fungus: When fungus grows on your toenail or in the skin around it, your toenail can break, discolor or crack.
  • Warts: A bump on the skin caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Plantar warts are warts that grow on the bottom of the feet.
