Parking

For the convenience of you and your visitors, we offer assistance with vehicle parking. The service is available Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the main hospital atrium entrance. 

Abundant surface parking is available, as is a separate entrance with adjacent parking for people receiving outpatient cancer treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions


Café

The Greenbrier Café, located on the first floor, is open daily from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and again from 7:30 p.m. till midnight. Our main entrée features are available for breakfast from 7 a.m. till 10 a.m. Lunch is from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dinner is served from 4:30 p.m. till 6:30 p.m., and is available for the grill and sandwiches from 7:30 to Midnight.

The Greenbrier Café offers a selection of hot and cold foods, soups and a salad bar as well as a wide variety of beverages and desserts.

Discharge

Our hospital discharge time is 11 a.m. Whenever possible, we ask that patients make arrangements to leave by this time once discharged by the physician. This time allows us to prepare your room for use by other patients. Our staff can assist you and your family in making arrangements for discharge.

Emergency conditions

For your safety, the hospital has developed and implemented responses to various emergency conditions. You may see flashing lights or hear alarms with announcement that signal an emergency condition. During these conditions, your door may be closed. Please stay in your room unless told otherwise by the nursing staff.

Family lounges

Adjacent to our second, third, and fourth floor Medical/Surgical units are family lounges. Each lounge has a kitchenette (microwave and refrigerator) and a small library featuring health resource materials and fiction novels, as well as Internet access. These lounges are open 24 hours a day.

Lost and found

If you misplace an item during your time with us, please contact our security at ext. 3190. If an item is found after you leave, we will contact you regarding your return of the item.

Mail and floral deliveries

All mail, floral arrangements and gifts coming to the medical center will be promptly delivered to you. If you have already left, mail will be re-addressed and forwarded to your home. Our mailing address is:

Nurse call

There are several methods for calling for nursing assistance. There is a white box with a nurse call button (red/orange) placed at the bedside. There is also a nurse call button on the inside and outside of the bed rails. Emergency call buttons are located in the bathroom (tub/shower area) and near the toilet.

Spiritual care

Chaplains are available at all times to discuss your spiritual or emotional concerns. Chaplains will also assist you in contacting your house of worship for sacramental needs, or a visit from your own clergy. You may request a chaplain at any time by speaking to your nurse or calling 288-3094 to leave a message. The Interfaith Chapel, located on the first floor between the Inpatient Reception area and the Main Lobby, is open for use at all times for prayer.

Patient rights and responsibilities

Upon admission you were given a copy of Aurora BayCare Medical Center's Patient Rights and Responsibilities booklet. This booklet contains information and guidelines to support the physical, emotional and spiritual needs for our patients. If you would like an additional copy, please contact your nurse.

Smoking

Aurora BayCare is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is prohibited in the building and on the grounds. Smoking is only allowed in personally owned vehicles.

Patient smoking will be permitted only in rare instances when accompanied by a written physician order. Patients that have a written physician order are allowed to smoke on an outside patio near the physician entrance. Ask your caregiver for specific directions.

Sound machines

The inpatient units at Aurora BayCare have sound machines available for patient use. These machines create soothing, natural sounds to help mask unwanted noise that may interfere with sleep, rest and healing. If interested, please ask your nurse.

To place a local call, press 9 + the number.

To place a long distance call, your options are collect, third party, or calling card.

  • For collect or third party, press 9 + 0
  • For calling card calls, press 9 and 1 800# found on card

To place a call within the medical center, simply enter the 4-digit extension.

Phone cards are available for purchase in the vending machine area located next to the Greenbrier Café.
