Treating the Many Causes of Chronic Wounds
A variety of diseases and issues cause chronic wounds. Patients with impaired sensation, prolonged periods of immobility, or advanced age often suffer from chronic wounds. Other times, non-healing wounds can be attributed to surgical complications or traumatic injury.
You may need specialized care if you have:
- Burns; We treat chemical, radiation, thermal, and electric burns.
- Diabetic foot ulcers; Diabetes foot problems are the most common cause of hospitalization among diabetic patients.
- Leg ulcers; Venous leg ulcers are the most common type of skin ulcer and are caused by poor blood circulation from the legs.
- Pressure ulcers; Also known as bedsores, these ulcers are caused by long-term pressure to the skin.
- Tissue damage; Skin sores may occur due to radiation or chemotherapy
- Traumatic wounds; Cuts and puncture wounds may contain debris which complicates the healing process.
Our wound care team is staffed by skilled physicians and nurses, all of whom have years of advanced training and experience in wound care. Our specialists will treat your wounds and determine if any special factors (underlying conditions or movements/pressure) could prevent healing.
