9th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk a Success

Hundreds of people gathered together at Lambeau Field on Saturday, October 14, for the 9th Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Green Bay walk, which was sponsored in-part by Aurora BayCare Medical Center.

The event is centered around a noncompetitive three mile walk with the purpose of raising awareness and funds to save lives from breast cancer. The walk brings people together to make a difference for everyone who have been touched by breast cancer and celebrate the strides being made against the disease.

Dr. William Owens, director of Aurora BayCare Medical Center's Comprehensive Breast Care Center, helped kick-off the event by sharing words of support for all those affected by the disease and hope for the future of breast cancer care.

Anne Karjala-Dobbins, an Aurora BayCare breast cancer survivor, was also the honored hero at the event. She kicked the walk off with a message of inspiration and encouragement for those currently battling the disease.

All proceeds from the event will go to support breast cancer research, education and prevention efforts, and support services for breast cancer patients through the American Cancer Society.
