Green Bay, Wis. – Aurora BayCare Medical Center hosted its 11th annual Fall Research and Medical Education Reception on Oct. 3, 2019.
The annual event is dedicated to highlighting and celebrating achievements in research and medical education. The ceremony includes awards to recognize the physicians and team members who stand out for their leadership and contributions to the field of medicine.
"Aurora BayCare's team of doctors, educators, and researchers go above and beyond in pursuit of medical excellence," said Dr. Michael Medich, director of medical education. "These team members have shown dedication to their fellow caregivers, patients, and the medical community. I'm honored to serve among them and support their efforts."
Awardees from the 2019 event, emceed by Dr. Medich and Dr. Brian Johnson, include:
- Dr. Michael Kincheloe, OB/GYN – Medical Educator of the Year
- Dr. Paul Maes, Family Medicine – Medical Educator of the Year
- Emergency Department – Medical Education Department of the Year
- Dr. Ziad Darkhabani, Interventional Neurology – Investigator of the Year
"The award recipients show tremendous vigor in their day-to day work with very little recognition," said Lori McElrone, manager of clinical research at Aurora BayCare. "This is our way of thanking them for their help in transforming the future of medical research and increasing the quality of patient care."
