Custom foot orthotics program
The custom foot orthotics program can provide relief for patients suffering
from foot or leg pain related to faulty lower extremity biomechanics.
Orthotics are shoe inserts designed to control the foot and lower extremity
alignment. Orthotics can also provide cushioning to increase shock absorption
and pressure relief to bony prominences or sensitive areas. By controlling the
foot, pain can also be relieved in the knee, hip or low back areas.
Patients referred to the Custom Foot Orthotics Program will receive a
thorough biomechanical assessment by a licensed Physical Therapist to determine
the type of orthotic device most appropriate for them. In addition, the
clinician will provide appropriate exercise instruction to address any muscle
imbalances in flexibility and strength as well as education on proper footwear.
